Quiet Days

Be still and know that I am God.
Psalm 46.

We offer a creative studio space near to Southampton and host a series of Quiet Days which are open to all. Our days are coordinated and supported by the Hopeweavers team and St. Luke's Church, Hedge End, Southampton, amongst other friends and benefactors. Friday sessions involve an extended morning and lunch, with Saturdays offering the opportunity for a longer day, usually including an informal Holy Communion, before we share vegetarian soup and bread together.

A typical Friday Quiet Day may include:

9.45am - 10.00am - arrivals, refreshments - introductions to the day and to each other
10.10am - Morning Prayer - usually either from Celtic Daily Prayer or from the Hopeweaver Daily Office
10.20am - Relaxation, centring, reflection and into a time of silence where you are able to walk, to use the art room, visit the outside Chapel space,
Library/Scriptorium/or simply to be still
12.10pm - Gathering back together, responses and prayer
12.30pm - Lunch together - and an opportunity to eat in silence if you would prefer
1.00pm - Close of our time

Donations

There is no charge to attend one of our sessions. Most people are able to make a contribution to
cover our costs of around £10 to £20 per head – which is gratefully received as we rely on donations to continue our work.

We are also available to come and work alongside you to develop Quiet Days in your own setting. Please ask for details.

You need to book your place with us in advance. There is often a waiting list for Quiet Days and we tend to be fully booked about 2 months ahead at any time. It is however worth checking for any cancellations.
